Role Description The Study Abroad Advisor is a full-time, on-site role based in Thrissur. The advisor will guide students through the entire study abroad process, including identifying suitable programs, institutions, and countries aligned with their academic goals and financial situations. Daily responsibilities include conducting counseling sessions, explaining admission requirements, assisting with application documentation, and advising on scholarship and funding options. The role also involves coordinating visa-related processes, keeping students informed about timelines and procedural updates, and maintaining accurate records of student interactions and application status. The advisor will collaborate with internal teams and external partners, participate in outreach activities, and ensure that every student receives clear, unbiased, and supportive guidance.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Educational Consulting and Consulting skills to guide students on suitable study abroad programs and pathways.
- Candidates should possess excellent Communication and Interpersonal Communication skills to conduct counseling sessions and interact effectively with students, families, and institutional partners.
- Candidates should possess knowledge of Visas and related procedures to support students through documentation, application, and compliance requirements.
- Candidates should possess solid organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple student cases, deadlines, and follow-ups efficiently.
- Candidates should possess proficiency in basic computer applications and online research to access university information, admission criteria, and scholarship opportunities.
- A bachelor’s degree in education, counseling, international relations, or a related field is preferred; prior experience in study abroad advising or educational services is an advantage.
- Candidates should possess a student-centered mindset, ethical approach to guidance, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
