Studio Head
Location: Bangalore
Experience: 8-12 years
About the Company
We are a modular furniture business focused on delivering functional, design-led solutions for homes and workplaces. The team values practical innovation, strong execution, and customer-first outcomes across design, production, and delivery. This role sits at the center of the studio function and helps turn client needs into scalable furniture solutions.
About the Role
The Studio Head owns the end-to-end performance of the design studio, from concept development through execution readiness. The role connects client expectations, design quality, and production feasibility so the business can deliver modular furniture solutions that are beautiful, manufacturable, and commercially sound. Success means driving a disciplined studio rhythm, improving turnaround speed, and ensuring every design decision supports revenue, quality, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the studio pipeline from brief intake to final design sign-off, ensuring each project moves with clear priorities, timelines, and quality standards that support timely delivery.
- Translate customer and sales requirements into modular furniture concepts that balance aesthetics, functionality, manufacturability, and commercial viability for the business.
- Lead, mentor, and review the work of designers and studio team members so the function consistently produces accurate, high-quality outputs.
- Partner with production, operations, and client-facing teams to resolve design feasibility issues early and reduce rework, delays, and execution risk.
- Establish studio processes, review checkpoints, and documentation standards that improve consistency, accountability, and decision speed across projects.
- Track project progress, workload, and output quality to maintain studio efficiency while protecting the customer experience and project margins.
- Present design solutions confidently to internal stakeholders and clients, converting feedback into actionable revisions without compromising design intent.
Essential Skills & Technologies
- Strong experience in modular furniture or interior-related design environments, with the ability to lead end-to-end studio work rather than only individual design tasks.
- Deep understanding of design development, material selection, space planning, and production feasibility so concepts can be executed reliably at scale.
- Working knowledge of relevant design tools and documentation practices used to create accurate, production-ready outputs and clear team communication.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and stakeholders while maintaining quality, speed, and commercial awareness.
- Leadership skills that help align designers, production teams, and business stakeholders around shared targets and predictable execution.
Additional Plus
- Prior experience leading a studio, design cell, or multidisciplinary furniture/interiors team.
- Exposure to client-facing design presentations and requirement discovery in a fast-moving commercial environment.
- Familiarity with modular systems, customization workflows, and execution constraints in furniture manufacturing.
What You'll Bring
- Ownership mindset with the judgment to balance design quality, delivery speed, and business outcomes.
- The ability to lead people, structure work, and create accountability without losing attention to design detail.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills to keep internal teams and clients aligned.
- A practical approach to problem-solving, especially when design intent must be translated into manufacturable solutions.
