Company Description MAP Architects is a leading architecture firm based in Bengaluru, India, focused on sustainable design and ethical practice. Role Description The Studio Head will lead the architectural studio, overseeing project delivery, design quality, and team performance in a full-time, on-site role based in Bengaluru. Responsibilities include guiding concept development, reviewing design schemes and drawings, and ensuring alignment with sustainable design principles and client objectives. The role involves supervising project schedules and resource allocation, coordinating with consultants and contractors, and managing communication with clients from inception through construction. The Studio Head will mentor and coach the design team, implement studio standards and processes, and support business development through proposal input and participation in presentations. The position requires hands-on involvement in key design decisions, risk management, and ensuring that projects meet regulatory requirements, budget constraints, and MAP Architects’ quality standards.
Qualifications
- Strong experience in architectural design leadership, including concept development, schematic design, and design review for buildings and interiors.
- Proficiency in architectural software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Rhino) and visualization tools for elevations, 3D views, and construction documentation.
- Demonstrated ability to manage end-to-end project delivery, including tender documentation, construction drawings, regulatory approvals, and site coordination.
- Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, consultants, and contractors on complex building and infrastructure projects.
- Deep understanding of sustainable design practices, building codes, and local regulations relevant to projects in India.
- Strong leadership, team management, and mentoring skills, with the ability to build and maintain a high-performing studio culture.
- Excellent communication and client management abilities, including presenting design ideas and handling stakeholder feedback.
- Professional degree in Architecture from a recognized institution; registration with the Council of Architecture (India) or equivalent is preferred.
- Prior experience in a studio head, design director, or senior project architect role within an established architecture practice.
