Student Success Manager – Counseling & Strategy Execution
Location: Gurugram (On-site) | Hybrid | Full-Time
Work Schedule: Tuesday to Sunday (Monday off)
Company Description
GIDE by High School Moms is a career and college counselling organization dedicated to guiding high school students (Grades 8–12) in building strong academic profiles and securing opportunities at leading universities worldwide.
Backed by one of the world’s largest parent–student communities, GIDE works closely with students and families across eleven countries through a structured, long-term approach that brings clarity, direction, and consistency to every stage of the student journey.
About the Role:
We are seeking a full-time Student Success Manager (SSM) for an on-site role based in Gurugram. As a Student Success Manager (SSM), you will play a dual role as a student-facing advisor and execution partner, supporting high school students in navigating their journey toward top-tier global universities.
While Admissions Strategists define the overarching direction, you will work closely with students to translate strategy into action, ensuring clarity, consistency, and accountability across every step of the journey.
This role goes beyond coordination — it requires the ability to guide, nudge, and engage students meaningfully, while also managing timelines, deliverables, and internal alignment. You will act as a trusted point of contact for both students and parents, ensuring that progress is not just tracked, but understood and owned.
Key Responsibilities:
Student Guidance & Engagement
- Work closely with students to help them understand and stay aligned with their overall admissions strategy.
- Act as an accountability partner, ensuring students remain consistent with commitments across academics, extracurriculars, and applications.
- Provide ongoing guidance, nudges, and clarity to help students overcome confusion, delays, or a lack of direction.
- Build a strong working relationship with students and families, ensuring trust and engagement throughout the journey.
Strategy Execution & Progress Management
- Translate the admissions roadmap into clear, actionable steps for students.
- Track progress across academic milestones, profile development, and testing timelines.
- Ensure timely completion of applications, essays, and supplementary requirements.
- Maintain structured tracking systems while ensuring students actively engage with them, not just passively follow.
Client Communication & Ownership
- Serve as the primary relationship manager for assigned students and parents.
- Conduct regular check-ins focused not just on status updates, but directional clarity and problem-solving.
- Communicate progress, gaps, and next steps in a clear, structured, and reassuring manner.
- Manage expectations while ensuring families remain aligned with the long-term plan.
Operational Excellence
- Manage timelines for essays, recommendations, and application deliverables.
- Coordinate with internal teams (Strategists, Mentors) to ensure seamless execution.
- Ensure accurate and timely updates on CRM and internal systems.
- Support scheduling of mock interviews, test prep, and external engagements.
Quality Review & Feedback
- Review student work (essays, submissions, profiles) for basic alignment and completeness before strategist review.
- Provide practical, actionable feedback to improve quality and consistency.
- Identify early signs of delays, disengagement, or misalignment and take corrective action.
Collaboration & Process Improvement
- Work closely with Admissions Strategists to maintain alignment between strategy and execution.
- Contribute to improving student workflows, communication practices, and tracking systems.
- Support the onboarding of new students by ensuring clarity in processes and expectations.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree from a reputed institution; background in Psychology, Education, Communication, or related fields preferred
- 2+ years of experience in student counseling, client-facing roles, academic coordination, or operations
- Strong ability to balance empathy with structure, understanding student behavior while ensuring accountability
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to guide students and parents
- High ownership mindset with strong attention to detail and timelines
- Comfortable managing both people-facing responsibilities and operational workflows
- Strong interest in education, student development, and global admissions pathways
- Prior experience in college admissions or ed-tech is an added advantage
Work Schedule
- This is a full-time, on-site role based in Gurugram.
- The role requires working on Saturdays and Sundays, with Monday as the weekly off.
