Role Description The Student Counselor (Study Abroad) will provide individualized counseling to students exploring international education options, including course, university, and country selection. This full-time, on-site role in Kochi involves conducting counseling sessions, managing inquiries, and guiding students and families through the entire application and admission process. The counselor will assist with documentation, application submission, and coordination with universities and partner institutions, as well as support students with visa procedures and pre-departure guidance. The role includes maintaining accurate student records, following up on leads, participating in seminars or events, and collaborating with the team to meet enrollment and service quality targets.
Qualifications
- Student Counseling skills to guide learners on suitable courses, universities, and countries based on their academic background and aspirations.
- Career Counseling skills to help students understand career pathways, labor market trends, and long-term outcomes of their study choices.
- Strong Communication skills, including clear verbal and written communication, active listening, and the ability to explain complex processes simply.
- Customer Service skills to provide responsive, empathetic support to students and families and manage queries professionally.
- Education-related knowledge, such as familiarity with international education systems, admission requirements, and standardized tests.
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Counseling, Psychology, Management, or a related field; a postgraduate qualification is an advantage.
- Prior experience in study abroad consulting, academic advising, or student services is preferred.
- Proficiency in MS Office and online communication tools, with the ability to maintain accurate records and use CRM or student management systems.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple cases simultaneously.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment and maintain high ethical standards in student guidance.
