Student Counsellor — Doubt Resolution & Student Support
VAIR Community | Remote | Full-time | Mon–Sat, 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM IST
About VAIR Community
VAIR Community helps students and professionals crack IPMAT and CAT and secure admission into India's top business schools — IIMs, XLRI, FMS, NMIMS and Symbiosis. Our learners range from school students in Classes 6–12 to college students, graduates and working professionals, and we support them through structured training, personalised mentorship and consistent academic guidance.
About the Role
We're hiring a Student Counsellor to be the first person our learners turn to when they're stuck.
Every day, students have questions — about a concept they didn't follow, a mock test score they don't understand, a study plan that isn't working, or a class they missed. You'll make sure every one of those questions gets answered, and that no student is left waiting.
This is a student support and academic guidance role. If you enjoy working with learners and take satisfaction in solving problems properly rather than just closing tickets, you'll do well here.
What You'll Do
1.Doubt Resolution
• Be the first point of contact for every student query — academic, scheduling or platform related
• Resolve routine doubts directly and route subject-level doubts to the right faculty without delay
• Follow up until the student confirms they've actually understood
• Coordinate doubt-clearing sessions and 1:1 mentorship calls between students and faculty
• Flag recurring doubts to the academic team so they get addressed in class
2.Student Support
• Run onboarding calls with new students and, where applicable, their parents
• Track attendance and mock test participation; reach out the same day a student goes off track
• Help students build a realistic study plan around school, college or work commitments
• Review mock scores with students and convert the numbers into a clear next step
• Keep parents of school students updated with regular progress reports
• Escalate struggling or disengaged students early
3.Data & Reporting
• Log every student interaction with resolution status and follow-up date
• Maintain the daily doubt tracker, attendance records and progress reports accurately
What We're Looking For
• Bachelor's degree in any discipline
• Strong communication in Hindi and English
• Patient and approachable — you'll be working with a wide range of learners, from school students aged 12 to 18 to college students, graduates and working professionals
• Able to adjust your tone and approach depending on who you're speaking to
• Organised, and you follow up without being reminded
• Comfortable with spreadsheets, trackers, video calls and WhatsApp
• Experience in student support, academic coordination or mentoring is an advantage
• Familiarity with IPMAT/CAT is a plus — training will be provided
Compensation
₹8,000 per month during a 3-month probation period, revised to ₹15,000 per month on successful confirmation.
What We Offer
• 100% work from home
• Structured training on IPMAT/CAT and our student support process
• Direct mentorship from experienced faculty
• Growth opportunities for strong performers
• A collaborative team that genuinely cares about learner outcomes
