Role Description:
- The Student Counselor is a full-time, on-site role based in Trivandrum.
- This position involves providing one-on-one counseling to students and families, understanding academic backgrounds and career goals, and recommending suitable countries, universities, and programs.
- The counselor will guide students through application procedures, documentation, admission requirements, and visa processes, while maintaining accurate records of all interactions and progress. Daily responsibilities also include conducting follow-up calls, organizing information sessions or workshops, collaborating with colleagues to improve counseling materials, and ensuring a professional, inclusive, and supportive environment for all prospective students.
Qualifications
- Strong counseling and advisory skills, with the ability to understand student aspirations and provide clear, tailored guidance.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, including active listening, confident presentation, and professional email and phone etiquette.
- Organizational and administrative abilities, such as maintaining student records, managing timelines, and handling documentation accurately.
- Basic knowledge of international education systems, admission processes, and visa procedures for destinations like the UK, Ireland, USA, France, Latvia, Malta, Germany, and Spain.
- Comfort with using computers, CRM tools, and online communication platforms to manage leads and track student progress.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team, adapt to changing requirements, and uphold ethical, non-discriminatory counseling practices.
- Bachelor’s degree in any discipline; education, counseling, psychology, or related fields are an advantage.
- Prior experience in student counseling is mandatory.
