ROLE OVERVIEW
At Career Express, a Student Counsellor is not just a “caller” or “sales executive.”
You will be the first point of contact for students and parents reaching out to us through walk-ins, WhatsApp, calls, referrals, seminars, and digital campaigns.
Your role is to:
- Understand the student’s real needs and confusion
- Build trust with both students and parents
- Recommend the right solution based on their profile
- Guide them toward better career decisions
- Convert enquiries into enrolments through consultative counselling
This role requires empathy, communication skills, strong follow-up discipline, and the ability to think beyond scripted sales conversations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES🎯 Student Counselling & Admissions
- Handle walk-in and online enquiries with personalised guidance
- Understand the student’s academic profile, interests, goals, and concerns before recommending programs
- Introduce relevant services beyond the initial enquiry wherever suitable
- Convert leads into admissions through relationship-based counselling and trust-building
📞 Lead Management & Follow-Ups
- Handle and follow up on leads generated through Meta Ads, Google Ads, seminars, referrals, and other marketing channels
- Ensure timely and structured follow-up through calls and WhatsApp
- Maintain proper lead records, notes, and status updates in CRM / Excel
- Ensure every lead has a defined outcome and follow-up history
🤝 Coordination & Student Experience
- Coordinate student meetings and counselling sessions with Directors
- Work closely with the academic team regarding batches, demos, onboarding, and schedules
- Support seminars, workshops, open houses, and admission events
- Ensure a smooth and professional experience for students and parents
WHO WE’RE LOOKING FORMust-Have Skills & Experience
- 1–4 years of experience in: Student Counselling, Admissions, Academic Sales, EdTech Sales, Education Consulting
- Excellent communication skills in: English, Hindi and Gujarati (preferred)
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building ability
- Comfortable handling calls and follow-ups throughout the day
- Good listening and questioning skills
- Organised and disciplined with lead tracking and scheduling
Preferred Background
- Experience in coaching institutes, EdTech companies, or study abroad counselling
- Familiarity with undergraduate entrance exams such as CUET, IPMAT, NPAT, SET, etc.
- Experience using CRM tools or Excel for lead management
- Exposure to career counselling or psychometric assessment processes is a plus
