Role Description The Student Counsellor role is a full-time, on-site position based in Bhopal. The counsellor will guide prospective and current students through course selection, program information, and career pathways, ensuring they understand the learning outcomes and opportunities at Sheryians Coding School. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting counselling sessions in person and via phone, responding to inquiries, maintaining accurate student records, and supporting admission and enrolment processes. The role also involves collaborating with academic and operations teams, organizing orientation and information sessions, and monitoring student progress to provide timely academic and career guidance. The counsellor will foster a supportive environment, address concerns, and help learners stay motivated and aligned with their educational and professional goals.
Qualifications
- Strong counselling and guidance skills, including active listening, empathy, and the ability to build trust with diverse learners.
- Excellent communication abilities, both verbal and written, with confident presentation and interpersonal skills.
- Organizational and administrative skills such as record-keeping, scheduling, and follow-up on student queries and leads.
- Basic understanding of technology and coding education, or willingness to learn about programming and tech career paths.
- Problem-solving and decision-making capabilities, with a focus on student success and practical, solution-oriented support.
- Experience in student counselling, academic advising, education sales, or related roles is preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Education, Management, Communications, or a related field is desirable.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced EdTech environment and collaborating with cross-functional teams on-site in Bhopal.
