Description
We are seeking a senior, hands-on engineering professional to build and operate structured credit analytics and enterprise-grade APIs supporting investment risk and research platforms.
The role focuses on analytics and backend/API engineering, with close partnership to a Core UI team to deliver dashboard-based analytics modules.
We are looking for an engineer who can deliver independently and actively raise the bar of the team around them.
What Youll Do
- Implement and validate structured credit analytics (cashflows, collateral analytics)
- Perform data ingestion and reconciliation using vendor and internal sources (e.g. , Intex, Bloomberg)
- Build production-grade APIs using FastAPI to expose analytics and workflows
- Partner with Core UI developers using a contract-first integration approach (clear schemas, example payloads, end-to-end integration testing)
- Enhance existing analytics platforms (no net-new product definition)
- Provide production support, defect remediation, and root cause analysis
- Deliver well-tested, observable, and documented software
- Coach and mentor junior engineers through pairing, design reviews, and code reviews, helping raise engineering quality and structured credit domain understanding
- Lead by example in engineering discipline : testing, documentation, observability, and operational readiness
What Were Looking For
- Strong experience with structured products (ABS / ABF / CLO strongly preferred)
- Hands-on expertise in Python and SQL
- Proven experience building enterprise APIs with FastAPI
- Prior work with Intex, Bloomberg, or similar fixed-income data
- Experience supporting production analytics systems
- Comfortable working under FTE technical direction within established standards
- Demonstrated ability to mentor junior engineers and transfer knowledge effectively
- Able to operate and deliver outcomes independently

- UI work is delivered in partnership with an established Core UI team
- Junior engineers are expected to learn through active collaboration and coaching, not passive handoffs

- Familiarity with regulated or audit-sensitive environments
- Prior experience acting as a senior force multiplier on small teams
