Role Description
- Prepare structural steel drawings for large-scale infrastructure projects based on design inputs
- Develop General Arrangement (GA) drawings and basic steel detailing using AutoCAD (2D)
- Create and manage 3D structural models using Autodesk Revit for coordination and visualization
- Extract drawings, sections, and schedules from Revit models
- Interpret and work from structural design drawings and analysis outputs (e.g., STAAD Pro or equivalent)
- Assist in preliminary steel detailing, including member layouts and basic connection representation
- Identify and resolve clashes or coordination issues within BIM models
- Coordinate with Structural Engineers, BIM teams, and site teams
- Ensure drawings and models meet project standards and specificationsby maintaining accuracy, quality, and timely delivery of outputs
Requirement:
- Minimum 2 Years of experience as Steel Detailer
- Basic to strong understanding of structural steel systems
- Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D drafting mandatory)
- Working knowledge of Autodesk Revit (mandatory) for structural modeling
- Understanding of BIM workflows and coordination processes
- Ability to read and interpret structural drawings independently
- Basic knowledge of steel connections (bolted and welded)
- Familiarity with GA drawings and extraction of drawings from BIM models
- Awareness of relevant codes and standards (e.g., IS 800 or equivalent)
