Job Summary:
We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Structural Steel Detailer with at least 2 years of experience using software such as Tekla Structures, SDS2 or equivalent . The candidate should have a strong understanding of fabrication drawings, GA drawings, steel connections, and industry detailing standards. The role involves preparing accurate shop drawings, coordinating with project teams, and ensuring high-quality deliverables within project timelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, update, and maintain accurate 3D structural models using approved detailing and BIM software.
- Prepare fabrication, erection, assembly, and single-part drawings from 3D models.
- Review and interpret structural and architectural drawings, engineering calculations, specifications, and project requirements.
- Modify models and drawings based on engineering revisions, client comments, RFIs, and field changes.
- Ensure all models and drawings comply with project specifications, detailing standards, applicable codes, and fabrication requirements.
- Perform model reviews and quality checks to identify clashes, inconsistencies, constructability issues, and missing information.
- Generate bills of materials (BOMs), material reports, CNC/NC data, and other fabrication deliverables as required.
- Coordinate with engineers, project managers, BIM coordinators, checkers, fabricators, and site personnel to resolve technical issues.
- Maintain drawing revisions, document changes, and project records throughout the project lifecycle.
- Support project schedules by completing assigned tasks within established timelines.
- Follow company procedures for quality assurance, document control, and data management.
- Participate in coordination meetings and contribute to continuous improvement of detailing standards, workflows, and best practices.
Qualifications
- Diploma / ITI / B.E. (Civil/Mechanical) or equivalent
- 1–3 years of hands-on experience in Tekla Structures or equivalent.
- Good knowledge of structural steel detailing and fabrication processes.
- Familiarity with steel connections, bolts, welds, plates, and miscellaneous steel.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD.
- Ability to read and interpret structural and architectural drawings.
- Knowledge of fabrication standards and detailing practices.
- Understanding of drawing revisions and document control.
- Basic knowledge of NC files, CNC data, and Bills of Materials (BOM).
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
