Our
Forensic practice investigates problems in the built environment and provides evidence-based solutions founded on rigorous science and physics. We assist attorneys, property managers, building owners, contractors, manufacturers, and design professionals with a wide range of engineering and architectural issues.
The Role
We have an opportunity for a Senior Engineer with interests in structural forensic investigation, structural repair, retrofit design, litigation support, and risk loss consulting. Candidates for the Senior Engineer position should have 3-4 years' experience in analyzing and designing small to mid-size projects such as industrial buildings, office buildings, health care, and warehouses, preferably in a consulting engineering firm environment. The candidate will be expected to support structural investigations of existing buildings, industrial structures, and design remedial repairs for deficient conditions. Over time, the candidate will be required to review the work product of other team members, and coordinate with other project managers on interdisciplinary efforts.
Responsibilities
- Assist with damage assessment and cause and origin investigations.
- Perform structural analysis of buildings, complex industrial structures.
- Assist in developing remediation, repair solutions.
- Review building codes, design processes and design assumptions.
- Perform required calculations and design elements.
- Preparation of construction drawings/documents.
- Assist in site visits, site investigations and prepare field notes.
- Complete technical and investigative reports to support forensic findings and prepare materials related to presentations.
- Perform calculations using MS-Excel, Initiate the development of custom spreadsheet-based calculations.
- Coordination with in-house team members, BIM staff, architects and engineers.
Requirements
- Ph.D./MTech/MS in Structural Engineering.
- 3-4 years of relevant experience in analysis, design of structures.
- Working knowledge of current industry software, including SAP2000, ETABS, RAM Structural System, SAFE, Risa3-D, StructurePoint, Revit, MS-Excel and AutoCAD is preferred.
- Willingness to learn NDT techniques.
- Ability and willingness to travel within India and internationally.
