Job Title: Structural Design Engineer – Modular Construction (MMC / DfMA)
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Structural Design Engineer to manage and coordinate structural documentation for modular construction projects. The role focuses on integrating MODULEX modular building systems with architectural, MEP, and engineering designs, ensuring compliance with applicable building codes and DfMA (Design for Manufacturing & Assembly) principles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and analyze structural systems for PEB, RCC, and hybrid modular buildings.
- Review design criteria including loads (wind, seismic), geotechnical parameters, and fire safety.
- Prepare and review structural drawings, calculations, shop drawings, and material take-offs.
- Coordinate with architects, MEP teams, and contractors to ensure design integration and clash-free execution.
- Review tender vs IFC drawings and highlight technical deviations.
- Evaluate temporary structures (formwork, crane foundations) and ensure compliance.
- Manage draftsmen and subcontractors for timely delivery of accurate shop drawings.
- Ensure QA/QC standards, safety compliance, and adherence to project timelines.
- Support procurement by reviewing structural technical submissions.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s in Structural Engineering (Master’s preferred).
- 10+ years of experience, including 5+ years in full-scale building design.
- Expertise in Staad Pro, Tekla Structures, Revit, AutoCAD.
- Strong knowledge of modular/offsite construction and DfMA concepts.
- Excellent coordination, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
