Role: Structural Design Engineer – Cold-Formed Steel (Remote – India)
This is a full-time remote role for a Structural Design Engineer with hands-on experience in analysis and design of Cold-Formed Steel (LGSF) structures.
The role is focused purely on structural design, while drafting and detailing will be handled by our Vertex BD drafter.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform structural analysis and design of LGSF structures (residential / light commercial)
- Calculate loads (dead, live, wind, seismic) based on project location
- Design members, sections, gauges, and spacing for walls, floors, and roof systems
- Identify where hot-rolled steel is required within LGSF projects
- Provide complete design inputs to the Vertex BD drafting team
- Review architectural drawings and convert them into structural design solutions
- Optimize designs for weight, cost, and manufacturability
- Ensure compliance with AISI / AISC standards (basic understanding required)
Required Skills
- Strong understanding of Cold-Formed Steel (LGSF) design principles
- Hands-on experience with STAAD Pro / STRAP for structural analysis
- Ability to independently design complete LGSF structures from architectural inputs
- Clear understanding of load paths, member behavior, and structural systems
- Ability to coordinate with a Vertex BD drafter and provide accurate design data
Qualification
- MTech in Civil or Structural Engineering
- 1–3 years of experience in structural design (LGSF preferred)
Working Model
- 100% Remote
- You will work closely with a Vertex BD drafter and build a strong design–drafting workflow
- Initial phase will focus on practice projects and team coordination before live production
