Structural Engineer
Key Responsibilities:
- Independently design and analyse structural systems, ensuring compliance with codes and performing calculations for safety and cost-efficiency.
- Collaborate with architects and contractors to develop integrated design solutions and manage smaller projects or components of larger ones.
- Prepare and review detailed design drawings, specifications, and reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project requirements.
- Conduct site visits to monitor progress and ensure correct implementation of designs, as well as assess structural repairs or modifications.
- Mentor junior engineers and work with senior engineers to refine design processes and resolve challenges.
- Address technical challenges with innovative design solutions and incorporate new materials, technologies, and methods.
- Communicate project updates and technical details to clients, contractors, and stakeholders, assisting in presentations and reports.
- Ensure designs meet industry standards, building codes, and regulations, while participating in quality assurance processes.
- Stay updated on industry trends and standards, and engage in professional development to enhance technical skills.
- Work closely with other areas of the business and key staff to overcome complex client requirements
Candidate Experience and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Civil/ Structural Engineering.
- Minimum 6+ years relevant work experience in structural engineering, primarily Steel Structures.
- Proficiency in structural engineering softwares such as SAP2000, ETABS, Staad Pro, RFEM, RAM Structural System, or equivalent tools.
- Competent in MS Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel.
- Knowledge of building codes, standards, and regulations related to structural design and construction (e.g., IBC, ACI, AISC, ASCE, EN).
- Excellent work ethic and proactive approach to tasks.
- Committed to continuous learning and driven by curiosity.
- Strong numeracy skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with a commitment to delivering high-quality solutions on time and within budget.
- Proven track record of successful project delivery and client satisfaction in the field of structural engineering.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, while maintaining a positive attitude and fostering a culture of teamwork and excellence.
- Willingness to travel within the region.
