The Engineering Manager will lead and manage the technical services and design team, focusing on providing expert static and seismic support solutions for high-profile projects, particularly data centres and airports. This role requires a dynamic leader with deep structural engineering expertise, a strong understanding of modern building services, and experience in guiding and developing technical teams. Responsibilities
- Design and Technical Expertise:
- Oversee the design and calculation of static and seismic support solutions for Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) and other suspended building services in complex structures.
- Ensure all designs for data centres, airports, and similar projects comply with relevant national and international building codes and seismic regulations.
- Serve as the technical lead, reviewing and approving calculations, drawings, and design specifications submitted by the engineering team.
- Collaborate with sales, product, and onsite teams to provide bespoke technical services and value-engineered solutions to clients.
- Perform risk assessments and provide expert guidance on complex engineering challenges during the project lifecycle.
- Team Leadership and Development:
- Manage, mentor, and guide a team of engineers, with a specific focus on developing expertise in BIM and structural design.
- Implement a robust training program for the technical team to ensure proficiency in Gripple's products, design principles, and software tools, including BIM.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members to foster professional growth.
- Delegate tasks and manage workload distribution within the engineering team to ensure project deadlines are met effectively.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering. M-Tech is a plus.
- Experience: A minimum of 4-5 years of experience in structural or mechanical engineering, with a proven track record of managing and leading engineering teams.
Required Skills
Deep structural engineering expertise, strong understanding of modern building services, and experience in guiding and developing technical teams.
Preferred Skills
Proficiency in Staad pro software.
