Role Description The Structural Design Engineer will be responsible for planning, analyzing, and designing structural systems for residential and mixed-use projects, ensuring safety, durability, and compliance with relevant codes and standards. Day-to-day activities include preparing structural calculations, designing foundations, beams, columns, slabs, and other structural elements, and reviewing architectural drawings to provide structural inputs and optimizations. The role involves coordinating with architects, project managers, site engineers, and external consultants to resolve design issues, support construction activities, and review shop drawings and material specifications. The engineer will perform structural analysis using appropriate software tools, prepare detailed drawings and documentation, and participate in design reviews, quality checks, and value engineering initiatives. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Bengaluru South.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in structural engineering principles, including analysis and design of concrete and steel structures, load calculations, and knowledge of relevant Indian and international building codes.
- Proficiency in structural design and analysis software (e.g., STAAD.Pro, ETABS, SAP2000), CAD tools for drafting (e.g., AutoCAD), and familiarity with BIM workflows is an advantage.
- Experience in residential and affordable housing projects, including high-rise and mid-rise structures; ability to interpret architectural drawings and integrate structural solutions efficiently.
- Knowledge of construction materials, detailing practices, reinforcement detailing, and practical constructability considerations to support site execution and quality assurance.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and numerical skills, with attention to safety, cost-effectiveness, and long-term performance of structures.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams, consultants, and site personnel, and to clearly document and present design decisions.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering; a Master’s degree in Structural Engineering and relevant professional certifications or membership in engineering bodies are beneficial.
