Position Summary
The Engineering Project Manager is responsible for driving the coordination, execution, and accountability of engineering deliverables across industrial EPC projects. This role ensures that engineering work progresses on schedule, is aligned with project timelines, and integrates effectively with construction and field execution.
This position serves as a central point of coordination for engineering delivery, working across disciplines to maintain visibility, organization, and follow-through. While not initially responsible for deep technical decision-making, this role plays a critical part in driving execution, identifying risks, and ensuring accountability across the engineering team.
This is a growth-oriented leadership role designed for an individual who can bring structure to engineering execution and expand into increased responsibility and influence over time.
Key Responsibilities
Engineering Project Execution
• Drive coordination of engineering deliverables across multiple EPC projects
• Develop, maintain, and actively manage engineering schedules aligned with overall project timelines
• Monitor progress against milestones and proactively address delays
• Ensure alignment between engineering design, fabrication, and field execution
• Track and drive resolution of issues impacting engineering progress
Cross-Functional Leadership & Coordination
• Serve as a key liaison between:
• Engineering
• Construction Management
• Fabrication
• Logistics
• Procurement
• Safety & Compliance
• Lead coordination efforts to ensure teams are aligned on priorities, timelines, and deliverables
• Participate in and help guide design review and coordination meetings
• Support effective handoff from engineering to construction
Performance Accountability:
• Establish and reinforce clear expectations for engineering deliverables
• Monitor workload distribution and progress across the engineering team
• Provide visibility into engineering performance, risks, and bottlenecks
• Drive accountability through consistent follow-up and communication
• Identify and implement workflow improvements to enhance efficiency
Risk & Issue Management:
• Identify risks to engineering schedules, quality, and execution early
• Escalate issues appropriately and ensure timely follow-through
• Coordinate with subject matter experts to support technical issue resolution
• Support disciplined documentation and change management processes
Client & Stakeholder Interface:
• Participate in client engineering and project review meetings
• Support communication of engineering progress, risks, and timelines
• Assist in aligning client expectations with engineering and project delivery realities
Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
• Strong organizational, planning, and prioritization skills
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent priorities and deadlines
• Analytical, detail-oriented, and execution-focused mindset
• Strong communication skills with the ability to coordinate across teams
• Ability to bring structure and clarity to complex, fast-paced environments
Preferred:
• Experience in engineering, construction, manufacturing, or project delivery environments
• Exposure to industrial or EPC projects
• Familiarity with multi-discipline coordination (mechanical, civil, structural, etc.)
• Experience supporting or coordinating project schedules and deliverables
• Interest in developing technical and leadership capabilities over time
