About the role

Strata’s Front Desk Coordinator is the first point of contact for Strata’s Durham headquarters and is trusted with meaningful responsibility for welcoming employees, making a good first impression on guests, and keeping the workplace secure.

This role has a meaningful impact on how employees and visitors experience Strata every day. It is well-suited for someone who enjoys variety, responsibility, and being a central part of a dynamic organization. This is a 100% in-person role in our Durham, NC office; M-F 8:00a to 4:30p, with a thirty-minute lunch break.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Takes ownership of the front desk and office experience, identifying opportunities to improve processes, communication, and employee experience
  • Monitors and controls access to the main entrance, verifying identification and/or credentials of employees, visitors, and vendors entering the location.
  • Maintains a visible presence at the front desk to help to deter unauthorized entry and/or suspicious activity.
  • Assists with visitor management, including registration and directing guests to appropriate areas within the building
  • Carefully attends to the arrival and departure of VIP guests and job candidates
  • Serves as the travel coordinator when the travel coordinator is out of office
  • Stocks and maintains downstairs break rooms
  • Handles incoming calls
  • Assists with weekly employee-engagement initiatives
  • Accurately processes incoming and outgoing mail
  • Ad hoc HR operation duties, as needed

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred
  • At least two years of experience in a corporate environment
  • Experience with UKG and/or reporting a plus
  • Professional and engaging demeanor
  • Able to multi-task, prioritize effectively, think ahead in a fast-moving environment, follow up appropriately, and meet deadlines
  • Strong service mindset with a high degree of professionalism and discretion
  • Strong attention to detail and critical thinking skills
  • Comfortable learning new tools, systems, and processes
  • Proficiency with Outlook
  • Strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and project and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently, use sound judgment, and know when to seek input or escalate

    Physical Requirements/Work Environment:

    • Work is fully performed in an office
    • Must be able to sit, stand, bend, twist, and lift up to 20 pounds.
