Social Sherpa is a full-service creative and growth agency based in Ahmedabad, serving clients across India and globally. We are a team of 30 passionate creators, designers, editors, developers, strategists, and storytellers, working across social media management, video production, UI/UX design, branding, website development, ad films, corporate films, and AI-generated content. With 200+ clients to date, we help brands find their voice and own their audience.
The Role
We’re looking for a Storyteller & Scriptwriter who lives and breathes language. Someone who can switch effortlessly between the sharp wit of an ad script and the quiet authority of a well-researched blog. This is not a “content writer” role. We want someone who understands narrative structure, knows how to write for the camera, and can make audiences feel something in 30 seconds or 30 paragraphs.
Your primary focus will be writing scripts for ad films and reels. In your downtime, you’ll craft SEO-driven blogs. You’ll work across English, Hindi, and Gujarati, and bring original ideas and cultural nuance to every piece you write.
What You’ll DoScripts & Ad Films (Primary)
• Write crisp, witty, and emotionally resonant scripts for ad films, brand reels, Instagram/YouTube short-form videos, and corporate films.
• Collaborate with directors, editors, and the creative team to shape narratives from concept to final cut.
• Write in English, Hindi, and Gujarati — adapting tone, idiom, and cultural references for each language authentically.
• Develop concepts and scripts for clients across industries: lifestyle, FMCG, real estate, D2C, services, and more.
• Work on script revisions based on client feedback while defending strong creative ideas with clarity.
• Write voiceover copy, scene directions, and on-screen text that work in harmony with visuals.
Blog & SEO Writing (Secondary)
• Write long-form blogs (800–2000 words) for Social Sherpa and client websites that are original, engaging, and optimised for search.
• Use AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, etc.) to accelerate research and drafting — but all ideas, angles, structure, and final voice must be human and original. (like we did with this Job Description)
• Understand basic SEO principles: keyword intent, heading hierarchy, meta descriptions, internal linking context, and readability.
• Write blog content that doesn’t read like a blog — storytelling-first, information-dense, genuinely useful.
What We’re Looking ForMust-Have
• Fluency in English and Hindi (Gujarati is a plus). Writing is only expected in English, not all three
• Proven experience writing scripts for ads, reels, or short-form video content (portfolio required).
• A natural sense of wit, timing, and storytelling. You understand what makes a joke land and a scene stick.
• Ability to switch tones fluidly: funny for a lifestyle brand, authoritative for a B2B client, warm for a wedding film.
• Strong understanding of how content is consumed on Instagram, YouTube, and OTT formats.
• Self-driven and deadline-oriented. You can manage briefs, iterations, and revisions without constant hand-holding.
Good to Have
• Prior agency experience or freelance scriptwriting work for brands.
• Understanding of SEO writing — keyword intent, content structure, meta tags.
• Experience using AI tools for content drafting or research.
• Comfort with Gujarati colloquial writing and regional storytelling sensibilities.
• Experience writing for diverse industries: real estate, food & beverage, fashion, finance, or healthcare.
