Function: Supply Chain / Operations | Reports to: SCM Lead | Location: Electronic City Phase 2, Bengaluru Employment: Full-time, on-roll | Shift: Mon-Fri | Experience: 2-5 years Compensation: ₹30,000-35,000/month in hand (approx. ₹4.2-4.8 LPA CTC) Works closely with: Purchase, Quality, Assembly/Production, Design & NPI
About the Role
We design and build autonomous mobile robots at our Electronic City Phase 2 facility. This role owns stores end to end, from material entering the gate to reaching an assembly bench: receiving, incoming inspection, booking into inventory, bin/tote discipline, kitting against the BOM, and issuing to the line on a committed turnaround, plus the numbers behind it: stock accuracy, cycle counts and reorder triggers to Purchase. (Vendor selection, negotiation and PO release sit with Purchase; this role begins at material receipt.)
We need someone who has run stores in a low-volume, high-mix engineering environment where BOMs and part numbers keep changing. Equally comfortable on the floor and in the system. Our inventory system is in-house and still evolving, and our bin scheme changes as the product does, so we want someone who improves how stores runs, not just executes it: when the system can't do something, you say clearly what it needs to do instead. The work is interrupt-driven; five assembly stations pull parts through the day.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive material against PO/DC/invoice; verify quantity, part number, condition, documentation; raise GRN same day
- Run incoming inspection: visual, count, basic dimensional checks; route critical items to Quality; flag shortage/damage/wrong parts to Purchase with photos
- Put away to designated bin within 1 working day; quarantine rejects and coordinate returns with Purchase
- Kit against BOM/work order, staged before the line needs it; fulfil ad-hoc checkouts within 1 hour
- Book every issue and return transaction at the time it happens; no verbal handovers
- Handle line returns, excess and rework/scrap: inspect, re-bin or route
- Maintain a defined, labelled bin/location for every part; keep the scheme current as SKUs change
- Run rolling cycle counts; close every discrepancy with root cause, not just an adjustment
- Practise FIFO and correct handling for ESD, fasteners, batteries, electronics, consumables
- Own min/max levels; raise reorder triggers before stock hits zero
- Keep the in-house system a same-day mirror of the shelf; maintain GRNs, issue slips, challans and a daily/weekly stores report
- Define stores' requirements for our evolving in-house system for the software team, and document how stores works so nothing stays tribal knowledge
- Introduce and maintain two-bin/kanban systems for fasteners and consumables
- Own 5S, safe handling and PPE in the stores area
What We're Looking For Must have
- Diploma/ITI/graduate in any stream
- 2-5 years running stores in manufacturing, assembly, EMS or engineering
- Hands-on with GRN, kitting against BOM, issue/return transactions, cycle counting, reconciliation
- Basic incoming inspection: vernier, scale, gauges; can read a drawing/spec
- Comfortable reading a BOM; can tell similar fasteners/brackets/components apart
- Working knowledge of an ERP/inventory system and basic Excel
- Comfortable in a system still being built: no vendor helpdesk, no frozen SOP; reports gaps and helps specify fixes
- Physically able to handle material movement on the shop floor
- English, plus Kannada, Hindi or Telugu
Good to have
- Background in low-volume, high-mix manufacturing (special-purpose machines, capital equipment, medical devices, aerospace/defence sub-tier, T&M, robotics, box-build EMS)
- Exposure to 5S, kaizen, kanban or two-bin systems
- Familiarity with GST/e-way bill, gate pass and challan processes
- Lives near Electronic City
How We'll Know You're the Right Person
- Treat stock accuracy as personal ownership, not paperwork
- Naturally organised; no tote left out of place at day's end
- Respond to the line with urgency; escalate shortages early rather than absorbing them quietly
- Disciplined about recording every transaction, even when the floor pushes for a quick handover
