Role Description The Stores and Inventory Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Mumbai, responsible for overseeing all aspects of warehouse, stores, and inventory operations. This role includes managing incoming and outgoing stock of raw materials and finished products, supervising receiving, storage, and dispatch processes, and ensuring accurate inventory records in coordination with procurement, production, and sales teams. The manager will monitor stock levels, conduct regular cycle counts and reconciliations, implement and maintain inventory control procedures, and minimize losses due to damage, pilferage, or expiries. The role also involves optimizing storage layouts, ensuring compliance with food safety and ISO-22000 standards, managing a team of store personnel, coordinating logistics and documentation, and preparing timely inventory and stock movement reports for management. The Stores and Inventory Manager will actively participate in process improvements to support efficiency, product quality, and customer service.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in inventory management, warehouse operations, and stores administration, with experience in stock monitoring, cycle counting, and reconciliation.
- Proficiency in ERP or inventory management software, MS Excel, and record-keeping, with attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
- Knowledge of food industry standards, including ISO-22000, food safety, hygiene, and handling guidelines for dry fruits, nuts, and processed foods.
- Skills in team supervision, workload planning, coordination with cross-functional teams (procurement, production, quality, and sales), and performance monitoring.
- Ability to analyze stock data, identify trends, prevent stock-outs and overstocking, and implement process improvements for efficiency and cost control.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the capacity to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; ability to prepare clear reports and communicate with internal stakeholders and vendors.
- Relevant academic background such as a degree or diploma in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations, or a related field; prior experience in FMCG or food processing is an advantage.
