Summary
SENS is seeking a self-motivated NPI Test Engineer within our Engineering team to support the development, validation and release of new products. This role partners closely with Engineering and Production to ensure products meet performance, reliability and quality standards and are successfully transitioned into manufacturing.
Responsibilities
- Develop tests and conduct new product validation in Engineering to ensure product operates according to specifications under varying workloads.
- Develop new product test plan and instructions for Production environment to ensure products are tested correctly every time.
- Write and improve software functions used to calibrate, configure and test products.
- Facilitate new product hand-off to Production including test instructions, test equipment design and configuration, and manufacturing test operator training.
- Develop fixturing to support test in Engineering, Production or at vendor facilities.
- Support an automated test framework used to verify products by updating code, setting up tests and maintaining test fixtures.
- Collaborate in planning and prioritization for test plan creation, design, implementation, and execution phases.
- Analyze test data to identify patterns, detect anomalies, and provide insights to improve product design.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent in a technical field of study.
- Experience working and communicating with test equipment such as voltmeters, data acquisition systems, o-scopes, load banks and similar instruments to make manual and automated measurements.
- Experience with software programming and basic ability to read and step through code to determine where issues exist.
- Ability to understand and troubleshoot technical systems and their associated communication interfaces.
- Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and mechanical part drawings.
- Proficient with all common business software, such as Outlook (calendar and email), Word, Excel with the ability to install, update and uninstall software applications.
- Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, communication (written and verbal), and interpersonal skills for articulating technical approaches and progress to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Flexible team player who actively establishes and maintains effective working relationships with company management and co-workers.
- Ability to multi-task in a small company environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in test and/or new product introduction in a manufacturing environment.
- In-depth knowledge of critical power genset backup, charger/battery systems or battery monitoring.
- Advanced software programming knowledge and experience in C and C#.
Location: This position is located in Longmont, CO with flexibility to work a hybrid schedule once fully trained.
Base Compensation: $82,000 - $95,000 is the projected range of annual base salary for this role depending on the candidate’s overall qualifications and experience.
