Role Description
The Store Manager is responsible for managing all store operations including receiving, storing, issuing, and controlling materials required for manufacturing activities. The role ensures accurate inventory management, timely material availability for production, and proper documentation of all store transactions while maintaining safety and organization within the store.
Key Responsibilities – Inventory Management
• Maintain accurate records of raw materials, components, consumables, and finished goods.
• Monitor minimum stock levels and reorder points to avoid shortages.
• Conduct regular physical stock verification and cycle counts.
• Identify slow-moving and non-moving inventory and report to SCM.
Material Inward & Receiving
• Verify incoming materials against Purchase Orders (PO), delivery challans, and invoices.
• Ensure proper inspection coordination with the Quality department.
• Record all inward materials in the store inventory system.
• Ensure proper material labeling and storage location allocation.
Material Issue & Production Support
• Issue materials to manufacturing as per approved material requisitions.
• Ensure FIFO/FEFO principles are followed wherever applicable.
• Track material consumption for projects and production orders.
Documentation & Record Keeping
• Maintain records for Goods Receipt Notes (GRN), Material Issue Notes (MIN), stock registers, and material movement records.
• Ensure documentation compliance for audit and internal controls.
Store Organization & Safety
• Maintain proper layout, cleanliness, and safety practices in the store.
• Ensure correct material stacking, identification, and handling procedures.
• Implement 5S practices in the store area.
Coordination
• Coordinate with SCM team for material procurement updates.
• Coordinate with Production team for material planning.
• Coordinate with Quality team for incoming inspection.
• Coordinate with Accounts team for invoice verification.
Reporting
• Provide daily material inward/outward report.
• Provide stock status report.
• Provide inventory valuation report.
• Provide material shortage alerts.
Key Skills Required

• Knowledge of FIFO, stock control, and store procedures
Qualification
Diploma / Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain, or Logistics. Additional certification in Inventory Management or Warehouse Management preferred.
Experience
5–10 years experience in store or warehouse operations in a manufacturing industry.
