Job Description

1.Job Title: System Engineer – Storage

2.Department: ITSSC

3. Job Location: Delhi NCR

4. Designation: Engineer

5. Budget: 8-10LPA

6. Overview / Objectives:

Administration, Monitoring and maintain the whole storage environment and it’s entire lifecycle in the Phoenix Contact Group and management directly related processes.


7.Experience: Minimum 5 years

8. Educational Qualification: Higher technical / IT / Bachelor techn. computer science

9.Area of responsibility:

Administration and conceptual design of Storage systems in the Phoenix Contact Group and development of storage service.

  • Install software updates to all parts of storage systems (e.g. Switches, Appliances,)
  • Developing and testing Disaster Recovery concepts in storage environment
  • Responsible person for testing and implementing service requests
  • Checking the health of systems, log files and ensuring good service availability for all systems
  • Installing software patches and updates for monitoring systems
  • Plan and operate NAS/SAN solutions on premise and in hybrid environments
  • Establishing and improving of automation for entire landscape based on Ansible
  • Developing and maintaining operating documentation for worldwide use
  • Incident analysis and troubleshooting
  • First in line for demand discussions in the (hybrid)Storage areas
  • Developing new Storage concepts without manufacturer dependency
  • Ensure a fully comprehensive and secure monitoring environment / Developing monitoring for all NAS/SAN systems


10.Decision Making Powers- Freedom of Action:

  • Monitoring of system operation
  • Log analysis (logs)
  • Execution of requests in the ServiceDesk system
  • Vulnerability management of entire landscape (patches, configuration adjustment) & controlling
  • Defining and implementing of Infrastructure strategy(Vendor, Versions, Automation solutions)
  • Developing monitoring solution and creating active NAS/SAN reporting
  • Ongoing documentation of the existing environment, workloads, capacities
  • Technology scouting and implementation of optimization projects


11.Scope of cooperation:

  • Responsible for the administration, conceptual design and further development of the int. Service Windows Server in a corporate data center and working with IT team members across Europe, Asia and America.


12.Professional Requirement (SME)

  • Advanced knowledge of Windows Server systems
  • In-depth knowledge of Windows technology like Active Directory, DNS, DFSR, ADFS, user and group management
  • GPO design and configuration
  • Solid understanding of LAN/WAN networking
  • Working knowledge on Powershell scripting
  • HyperV knowledge
  • Experience in Microsoft Licensing model
  • Automation tools (Ansible, Terraform…)
  • Experience in working with Hyperscalers
  • Microsoft Windows Cluster


13.Practical skills

  • Storage tools, AD, AAD, Windows- and Linux Server Know How, DNS, DHCP, GPO
  • basics of Scripting (Ansible, Python, Powershell or other)
  • self-organization / structuring skills / Team player / committed and self-initiated
  • willing to learn and the will for constant change
  • a good understanding of IT architecture and security in the enterprise environment
  • NetApp tools and methodology of NetApp architecture design
