Summary Of Position
As a Storage Engineer with Netrio, you will play an important role in providing support in our clients’ environment without assistance and be able to teach others to do the same. You will be part of an essential team monitoring complex IT networks for 24/7 support.
Responsibilities
- Provide second and third-level support for storage issues.
- Leverage problem-solving skills to logically troubleshoot multi-faceted issues.
- Implement daily production changes related to storage systems and coordinating these changes with appropriate parties for verification of functionality.
- Update and maintain tickets assigned to you.
- Investigate and diagnose production issues or outages and respond in a timely fashion.
- Communicate clearly and concisely and adhere to company / ITIL standards and procedures.
- On-call rotation is required as a part of this role. Engineer would be expected to be available when necessary to take escalations from systems engineers and clients. Some scheduled work does occur on Saturdays.
- Expected to work as part of a team, not on an island, and be openly collaborative when working through issues with other team members so they can address issues during future occurrences.
- Perform DR testing and site power-downs as required by clients.
- Managing L2 and Vendor support for Rubrik
Skills & Qualifications
- 3+ Years Storage Engineering experience, including but not limited to:
- Advance knowledge of NFS/CIFS technologies, Fiber/iSCSI best practices, and troubleshooting skills.
- Advance knowledge and experience in the management, as well as the configuration of multiple of the following SANs: EMC VMAX, Powerstore, XtremIO, Isilon, Unity, Pure, HP MSA, Nimble, and NetApp.
- Experience in supporting storage replication and snapshot technologies such as SRDF, Pure, SnapMirror.
- Knowledge of standard operating systems (RHEL, Windows Server 2016/2019/etc, ESXi 6.0/7.0)
- Experience working with High-Availability configurations for Cisco MDS & Brocade Fiber Switches
- Skills managing back-up and restores and their settings/configurations
- Must be a self-starter, able to work through issues from start to finish with little assistance, reporting on the root cause, providing recommendations for resolution.
- 2+ Years of configuring and managing Rubrik Backup solutions.
Preferred Experience
- 3+ Years Experience with Backup solutions such as Avamar, Azure, Veeam, and Cloudberry backup solutions
- 3+ Years of Linux/Windows Administration
- Configuration and troubleshooting of storage presentation
- Knowledge of NFS and CIFS
- Cluster configuration and Administration
- Knowledge of PowerPath and MPIO for multipath management
- Cisco Data Center Network Manager as well as CLI configuration of Cisco MDS Series switches
- 3+ Years VMware Experience
- 2+ Years SYMCLI Experience
- Bash, Powershell, or other scripting experience is a plus
