Job Description: Assistant Vice President (AVP) – Sales & Team Lead

Role Summary
We are seeking an aggressive, growth-oriented, and dynamic Assistant Vice President (AVP) – Sales & Team Lead to spearhead client acquisition and revenue generation for our Stock Broking and Wealth Management divisions in Mumbai.
This is a high-impact leadership role requiring a blend of strategic business development and active team management. The ideal candidate must have a proven track record of handling significant revenue targets and possesses the unique ability to transition, build, and scale a high-performing team of Relationship Managers / Advisors to accelerate organizational growth.
Key Responsibilities
1. Sales Leadership & Team Transition
Team Building: Actively recruit, transition, or bring in an established, high-performing team of Relationship Managers (RMs) or Equity Advisors.
Mentorship & Coaching: Train, mentor, and guide the team on client acquisition strategies, asset allocation, market trends, and cross-selling methodologies.
Performance Tracking: Manage day-to-day team operations, review individual performance metrics, and execute corrective action plans to ensure all team members meet monthly and quarterly sales milestones.
2. Revenue & Target Management
Target Delivery: Own and deliver a designated collective revenue and Net New Money (NNM) target across the team, while achieving personal/individual sales quotas.
Product Performance: Drive volumes and brokerages across a diversified portfolio of financial products, including:
Equities (Cash & F&O)
Commodities & Currencies
Mutual Funds, PMS (Portfolio Management Services), and AIFs
Bonds and Structured Products
Strategy Implementation: Design and execute tactical sales campaigns to optimize client wallet share and maximize cross-selling efficiency.
3. Client Acquisition & Relationship Management
Network Penetration: Leverage personal network, the team’s existing book, and referrals to onboard High-Net-Worth Individuals (HNIs), Ultra-HNIs, and corporate clients.
Key Account Management: Maintain robust, long-term advisory relationships with top-tier clients, offering tailored market insights and premium service.
4. Risk & Compliance
Ensure absolute compliance with SEBI, stock exchanges, and internal PhillipCapital KYC/AML protocols across all sales and advisory processes managed by the team.
Candidate Profile & Requirements
Experience: Minimum 3 to 7 years of aggressive sales and team handling experience within a prominent Stock Broking house, Wealth Management firm, or Private Banking setup.
Track Record: A demonstrable history of achieving challenging individual and team-driven revenue targets.
Network Advantage: Preference will given to candidates who can seamlessly onboard an experienced team of professionals and bring an active book of HNI/UHNI relationships.
Industry Knowledge: In-depth understanding of technical and fundamental aspects of equities, derivatives, macro-commodities, and wealth structuring.
Certifications: Mandatory NISM Series VIII (Equity Derivatives) and NISM Series V-A (Mutual Fund Distributors) certifications.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field. An MBA or CFA is a strong plus.
