Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Steward role based at The Shalimar Hotel in Mumbai. The Steward will support daily food and beverage operations, including cleaning and maintaining kitchen areas, utensils, and equipment, and ensuring proper sanitation and hygiene standards. Responsibilities include assisting in food service setups, organizing crockery and cutlery, replenishing supplies, and coordinating with kitchen and service staff to ensure smooth meal service. The role also involves following safety procedures, handling equipment carefully, and supporting the team during busy service periods. The Steward is expected to maintain a professional appearance, uphold hotel standards, and contribute to a positive and efficient working environment.
Qualifications
- Strong Customer Service skills, with a focus on courtesy, responsiveness, and guest satisfaction.
- Effective Communication abilities to coordinate with kitchen, service, and housekeeping teams.
- Knowledge of Food & Beverage operations, including basic hygiene practices and service etiquette.
- Experience or willingness to learn in Food Service environments, including handling dishwashing, cleaning, and stock organization.
- Ability to participate in Training programs and adapt to standard operating procedures and safety guidelines.
- Attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Basic educational qualification; prior hotel or restaurant experience is an advantage.
- Flexibility to work in shifts, including weekends and holidays, as required by hotel operations.
