JOB PURPOSE SUMMARY
Responsible for serving food and beverage items to guests in a friendly, enthusiastic, professional, and timely manner. Provide a cheerful and friendly welcome to guests, seat them, and bid warm farewells; guiding and helping asst. waiters in their work; any other tasks as assigned.
MAIN AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
Main Duties
· Meet-greet-seat
· Mise-en-place
· Restaurant set up
· Pass operations
Ancillary Duties
· To attend briefings and meetings
· To learn about daily specials and availabilities
· To be familiar with regular guests
· To guide assistant waiters
· To have a thorough knowledge of all menu items
· Observe guests during their meal, and determine whether or not they are satisfied with their experience. Inform relevant authorities to take prompt action if you feel that guests are not satisfied
Pre-shift duties
· To clean tables, chairs, restaurant floor, walls and internal glass areas
· To fold napkins
· To polish cutlery and glasses
· To set up the restaurant
· To stock up the stations for the shift (glasses, cutlery, crockery, condiments, napkins, tea cups, tea pots, sugar bowls, black clothes, trays, etc)
· To complete daily cleaning jobs assigned (see daily and weekly cleaning schedules)
· To check all menus and replace when necessary
· To stock the pass (sauces, cutlery, crockery, condiments etc)
· To change rubbish bags, napkins bags
At-shift duties
· To welcome the guests and seat them with care (pulling the table or chairs etc)
· To provide a friendly, courteous and professional service at all times
· To recognize guests and to remember the names of the regulars and to be in constant communication with managers
· To follow our standards with respect to offering the menu, serving drinks, punching orders in the pos etc
· To follow our sequence of service diligently (see order of service manual)
· To be aware of return times and to maintain ongoing communication with your manager
· To escort the guest to their destinations ( table, bathroom, exit etc.)
· To pass guest messages to managers
· To ensure that all the necessary stock is being replenished during the shift
· To set and re-set tables
· To clean tools and work surfaces you use (blue clothes, sinks, shelves and surfaces, cupboards etc.)
· To clean and dry spillages ensuring red caution sign is displayed
· To welcome and bid farewell to the guests
· To check menus and bill trays
· To handle pass operations
End-of-Shift Duties
To complete all assigned end of shift duties (see closing duty list)
General Duties
· To understand completely & conform to all policies, procedures, standards, specifications, guidelines and training programs.
· Should be well aware of SOP for Outlet Lights, Music system & TV.
· To report for duty punctually wearing appropriate attire
· To be fully conversant with the geographical layout of the operation and to know the exact whereabouts of all equipment of an operational nature .
· To maintain high standards of personal appearance and hygiene at all times
· Follow clean-as-you-go policy and keep work area clean at all times.
· Sign acceptance for tools, knives, uniforms etc. And pay back to the company for any loss or damage of said equipment.
· To maintain a good rapport and working relationship with colleagues, HO and all other departments and suppliers
· To provide courteous, professional, attentive and efficient service at all times towards internal & external customers
· To attend and contribute to all staff briefings and other related activities
· To respond to any changes in the restaurant function as directed
· Be willing and open to transfer across our formats as per work exigencies
· Be open to cross functional training/movement at all times
· To carry out any other duties and responsibilities as assigned
· Be fully conversant with our quality checks and processes, health & safety policy, food hygiene and safety, and fire safety procedures

QUALIFICATION STANDARD
Education: Hotel Management Degree /Diploma holder.
Experience: Min 1 year of experience in hotel or Restaurant floor operations handling.
