Overview
The Steel Structures Drafting Engineer will be responsible for creating detailed technical drawings and plans for steel structures, ensuring all designs comply with industry standards and regulations. The primary objective of this role is to provide accurate and comprehensive drafting support to engineers and project managers, facilitating the successful completion of projects within scope, timeline, and budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and prepare detailed steel structure drawings using AutoCAD software.
- Collaborate with structural engineers to create design plans and specifications.
- Review and revise drawings based on feedback from engineering teams and project stakeholders.
- Ensure all designs comply with relevant codes, standards, and best practices in steel construction.
- Conduct site visits, as needed, to gather data for accurate drafting and design.
- Maintain organized documentation of drawings and revisions for project tracking.
- Participate in design meetings to discuss project progress and milestones.
- Provide technical support and guidance to construction teams during project execution.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D and 3D for drafting and modeling of steel structures.
- Experience in structural design principles relevant to steel fabrication and construction.
- Familiarity with civil and mechanical engineering concepts as they relate to steel structures.
- Ability to utilize various design software tools and technologies for engineering applications.
- Knowledge of relevant industry codes and standards for steel design and construction.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
- Professional certification in drafting or engineering design is preferred but not mandatory.
- Minimum of 1 years of experience in drafting or engineering related to steel structures.
Skills & Experience
- Proficient in AutoCAD 2D and AutoCAD 3D, with a strong portfolio showcasing previous work.
- Solid understanding of structural design processes, focusing on steel construction.
- Background in civil and mechanical engineering principles as they relate to drafting.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities in design contexts.
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.
