Role Description The Steel SDS/2 Modeler | Erector | Detailer is a full-time, on-site role based in Nasik. In this position, the team member will create and manage detailed 3D models using SDS/2 for structural steel projects, ensuring accuracy in connections, member sizes, and shop drawings. The role includes preparing erection plans, field bolts lists, and fabrication drawings in line with AISC standards and project specifications. Daily tasks involve coordinating with engineers and project managers, reviewing design documents, resolving clashes and detailing issues, and updating models and drawings as designs evolve. The team member will also support quality checks, respond to RFIs, and collaborate closely with fabrication and erection teams to ensure smooth project execution.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in SDS/2 modeling and detailing tools, with experience creating 3D models, shop drawings, and erection plans for structural steel.
- Strong understanding of steel detailing practices, AISC standards, connection design basics, and fabrication/erection workflows.
- Ability to read and interpret structural and architectural drawings, specifications, and design documents with high attention to detail.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with engineers, project managers, and shop/field personnel.
- Basic competency in CAD software and office productivity tools (e.g., AutoCAD, MS Office) to support documentation and coordination.
- Relevant technical diploma or degree in civil/structural engineering or a related field; prior experience in a steel detailing firm is an advantage.
- Strong organizational skills, ability to manage multiple projects, and commitment to meeting schedules and quality requirements.
- Willingness to work on-site in Nasik and continuously learn new detailing standards, tools, and best practices.
