Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role for a Steam Turbine Utility Operator based at Indian Glycols Limited’s Kashipur facility. The role involves operating and monitoring steam turbines and associated utility equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable plant operations. Responsibilities include starting, stopping, and adjusting turbines and auxiliary systems, checking parameters, logging operational data, and responding to alarms and abnormal conditions. The operator will coordinate with other utility and production teams, follow standard operating procedures, support routine maintenance activities, and ensure compliance with safety and environmental guidelines. The role may also include assisting in training team members on utility operations and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Strong understanding of utilities systems, including steam turbine operation and plant utilities management.
- Effective communication skills for coordinating with cross-functional teams and reporting operational status.
- Experience with safe material handling and equipment operation; forklift operation knowledge is an advantage.
- Ability to participate in and deliver on-the-job training related to utility operations and safety practices.
- Exposure to process industries such as chemicals, food & beverage, or related manufacturing environments is beneficial.
- Relevant technical diploma or degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial engineering, or equivalent experience in utility operations.
- Knowledge of safety regulations, lockout/tagout procedures, and environmental compliance standards.
- Ability to work in shifts, maintain attention to detail, and respond promptly to operational issues.
