As a Sales Intern, you’ll play an active role in helping move freight across the country while learning the fundamentals of freight brokerage sales. This internship is designed as a Sales Coordinator “lite” role, with a primary focus on prospecting, outbound outreach, and lead generation. You’ll work closely with our Domestic and Drayage Sales team to identify and pursue new business opportunities, support early-stage sales activities, and gain hands-on exposure to Steam’s cradle-to-grave sales model. What You’ll Do
- Prospect and identify potential customers through phone calls, email outreach, and research
- Generate and qualify leads for the Domestic Sales team
- Support outbound sales efforts by assisting with call lists, CRM updates, and follow-ups
- Learn how freight brokerage works within a cradle-to-grave sales model
- Shadow Sales Coordinators and Brokers to understand onboarding, quoting, and customer relationship management
- Help maintain accurate records and activity tracking in our sales systems
What We Need From You
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a college degree (preferred, not required)
- Interest in sales, business development, or logistics
- Comfortable making outbound calls and engaging with prospects
- Strong communication skills and a professional phone presence
- Self-motivated, coachable, and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment
- Availability to work full-time beginning June 1
