The International Account Manager role with the International Operations department is responsible for the overall day-to-day freight management of shipments and assigned customer accounts. It is essential for this position to conduct the necessary activities that will: (A) produce results that will garner customer trust, (B) be complementary to existing company competencies, and (C) produce above average gross net revenue/profit. This position has broad responsibilities including freight sales, customer spot pricing, carrier price negotiation, and operational duties.
Customer Relationships & Pricing
- Responsible for the day-to-day freight management of assigned customer accounts, which requires effective and efficient communication with the customer and the International Outside Sales team.
- Foster and enhance relationships with customers, carriers, and other vendors.
- Develop sustainable relationships with assigned customers via timely communication via phone and email, participating in QBRs, and providing market-driven updates.
- Create pricing solutions for assigned customers in a timely manner; ensure pricing is competitive in order to secure the business and to grow existing business.
- Responsible for all financials on the files, including Negative and Positive Variances.
- Support the International Outside Sales team with pricing on RFPs, Spot Rates, Projects, etc.
Operations
- For assigned customer accounts, own the complete file from shipment creation to billing process to delivery.
- Track, trace, and coordinate with our overseas offices to obtain proper documentation, handle shipment creation in our systems, and become well-versed in invoicing the shipments.
- Pursue improved carrier and agent relationships both overseas and in the United States.
- Support compliance procedures to protect the customer, to include ensuring NRAs are current and valid, becoming TSA certified, and understanding ITAR requirements.
- Stay abreast of market intelligence, geopolitical impacts, and industry challenges in order to use current events and data to support sound decision-making for Steam and the customer.

- Knowledge of pricing freight based on current market conditions.
- Strong skill in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) and Cargowise
- Preferred knowledge on different Steam offerings (Domestic, Drayage)
