Backed by joint staff level military leadership and several major SV firms, their first product is designed for immediate deployment around the world.
Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled mechanical design engineer with a strong design and testing background. You will design , prototype, and test complex vehicle/structures for aerospace rocket/missile systems. You will own system components from conception through to flight testing and manufacture and be responsible for performance by executing analysis and environmental testing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own the design and development of next generation structures, mechanisms, and hardware
- Perform hand calculations and to develop, assess, and optimize designs
- Rapidly iterate on manufacturing processes and development testing in a fast-paced environment
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure hardware integrates with your builds and supports necessary mission operations
- Lead design reviews internally and externally with suppliers and customers
- Negotiate complex trade studies to optimize for cost, schedule, safety, and performance, among other considerations
- Create original Cad designs
- Create and maintain build schedules
- Be responsible for project delivery timeline from early design through production and launch
- Exemplify technical excellence and be accountable for your work
Qualifications:
- 8+ years in Mechanical Design experience within the Aerospace and Defense industry
- Bachelors in aerospace or mechanical engineering
- Proficiency in one or more design/programming tools such as AutoCAD, Creo, SolidWorks, Python, and Jira.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work in across-functional team environment.
- Involvement in a professional engineering society or collegiate design project
