Founding Software Engineer (AI Startup)

This startup is solving complex problems involving real-time sensor data, edge computing, and production-grade ML—blending Firmware embedded systems with modern software architecture. You'll work directly with the founding team to architect, build, and deploy systems that interact with real-world environments. This role is ideal for someone who has meaningful experience shipping products end-to-end and thrives in high-ownership, low-bureaucracy environments. Responsibilities: Build and maintain full stack systems powering the company's predictive platform Develop APIs and integrate with third-party services and sensor data infrastructure Collaborate across software, hardware, and machine learning teams to ship production features Ensure systems are scalable, efficient, and production-ready Contribute to architecture and technical strategy alongside company leadership Design and implement APIs and backend services to support hardware-software integration Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent and at least 4 years of professional engineering experience. Experience in full stack development for web-based and cloud-native applications Experience working with time-series or real-world sensor data and/or deploying machine learning models in production Experience in backend programming using Node.js, Python, and frontend experience with React Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL database systems Experience setting up CI/CD pipelines Bonus Points: Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices Familiarity with embedded or low-data systems Previous experience at a seed-stage or Series A startup Shipped a hardware-integrated software product Experience at an AV tech company or rapidly growing startup
