State Representative Margaret Croke represents the 12th district which includes Chicago's Northern lakefront communities such as Gold Coast, Old Town, Lincoln Park, and East Lakeview. Representative Croke is an advocate for women, small businesses, the LGBTQ+ community, and sensible gun control measures. State Representative Margaret Croke of Illinois's 12th District is hiring a district office intern for the Fall beginning the first week of September. The hourly rate is $15. Start and end dates are flexible.

State Representative Margaret Croke represents Illinois' 12th district which includes a large portion of the northern Chicago lakefront, including Gold Coast, Old Town, Lincoln Park, and East Lakeview. Since first taking office in January 2021, Croke has emerged as a leader on advancing LGBTQ+ and women's rights, identifying opportunities for Illinois to lead in emerging industries like financial technology, and building safer communities. She is Chair of the House Financial Institutions and Licensing Committee and is a member of the Adoption and Child Welfare, Child Care Accessibility and Early Childhood Education, Gaming, Immigration and Human Rights, and Revenue and Finance Committees. Croke is a member of the House Democratic Moderate Caucus, Gun Violence Prevention Caucus, Jewish Caucus, and a founding member of the Mamas Caucus. She is a member of the Economic Club of Chicago and the Lincoln Park Zoo Women's Board. Prior to running for office, Croke was the Deputy Chief of Staff for the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity, and the former Statewide Women's Outreach Director for JB Pritzker for Governor in 2018. Croke received a B. A. in Political Science and Communications at the University of Michigan - Ann Arbor. She lives in Lincoln Park with her husband Patrick, son PJ and daughter Mary Pearl.
