QA Position

This position will assist the Lottery QA team with testing traditional Lottery and iLottery Games, applications, and related systems in controlled test environments.  

Duties include Executing assigned test cases, completing test scenarios, recording test results, and helping confirm that system functions operate according to approved requirements.  

Will perform hands-on testing of Lottery games, terminals, websites, mobile applications, account functions, transaction flows, reports, prize validation, payment-related functions, and other assigned system processes.  Testing may be performed using lottery terminals, computers, ios devices, Android devices, and web-based platforms.  The position will document testing results using approved QA tools, spreadsheets, defect tracking systems, or other required formats.  Documentation will include pass/fail results, testing notes, screenshots, supporting evidence, and observed system behavior.  

The position will identify and report potential defects, inconsistencies, or unexpected system behavior discovered during testing.  Duties include Assisting with issue documentation, identifying steps to reproduce, comparing expected results to actual results, and supporting retesting after corrections are made.  The position will review assigned requirements, game rules, project documents, release notes, test instructions, and vendor materials to understand expected system behavior and support accurate testing.  Will assist with reviewing reports, transaction data, game outcomes, prize structures, payout results, and system outputs to identify discrepancies, anomalies, or items requiring additional review by QA leadership.   Will communicate testing progress, issues, questions, and results to QA leadership, project staff, vendors, and other Lottery stakeholders as directed.  Position may participate in meetings, defect reviews, project discussions, and production-readiness activities.  Will maintain organized test records, test evidence, issue documentation, and summary information to support project review, audit needs, compliance review, and operational decision-making Special Qualifications or Preference may be given to applicants with experience, education, or demonstrated interest in quality assurance testing, software testing, information technology, computer science, data analysis, gaming systems, or related technical work.   Preferred qualifications include strong attention to detail, the ability to follow written procedures, the ability to document work clearly, basic computer skills, and experience using Microsoft Office products such as Excel, Word, and Outlook.  Experience with mobile applications, websites, software testing, spreadsheets, defect tracking tools, test management tools, or technical documentation is preferred.  Applicants should be dependable, able to communicate clearly, work both independently and as part of a team, maintain confidentiality, and follow established procedures in a regulated environment.

Applicants are subject to an extensive background investigation by the WV Lottery Security Division.  No person shall be appointed, employed, or continue to serve in any position or employment with the commission who has been convicted of any violation of the lottery law or of any felony or any crime related to theft or gambling.  The commission shall remove or discharge any person so convicted.

Minimum Qualifications

Preferred qualifications include strong attention to detail, the ability to follow written procedures, the ability to document work clearly, basic computer skills, and experience using Microsoft Office products such as Excel, Word, and Outlook.  Experience with mobile applications, websites, software testing, spreadsheets, defect tracking tools, test management tools, or technical documentation is preferred.  Applicants should be dependable, able to communicate clearly, work both independently and as part of a team, maintain confidentiality, and follow established procedures in a regulated environment.

PG:  14     $39,461 - $68,582
