The Academic Clinical Instructor in Radiology plays a vital role in preparing the next generation of radiologic technologists by providing both academic instruction in the classroom and hands-on clinical training in healthcare settings. This dual role requires a dynamic educator who can bridge theory with practice to support student learning, skill development, and professional growth.

In the classroom, the instructor will design and deliver engaging lectures, labs, and instructional activities that align with course objectives and accreditation standards. They will use a variety of teaching methods and instructional technologies to ensure students understand complex concepts in radiographic imaging, patient care, radiation safety, and professional ethics. 

In the clinical setting, the instructor will work one-on-one with students at assigned partner facilities, guiding them through real-world radiographic procedures. They will demonstrate proper techniques, monitor performance, and provide constructive feedback to ensure students develop competency in patient positioning, imaging protocols, and the safe and effective use of radiologic equipment. 

This position requires effective communication and collaboration with both students and clinical site staff. The instructor will coordinate clinical rotations, evaluate student progress, and ensure compliance with program policies and accreditation requirements. By integrating academic instruction with hands-on practice, the Academic Clinical Instructor supports student success and contributes to the overall excellence of the Radiologic Technology program at Midlands Technical College.

This position is located on the Midlands Technical College Airport Campus.

Position Duties

Faculty will have a minimum of a bachelor's degree and preferably teaching experience. Hold the ARRT certification or equivalent, plus two (2) years clinical experience and be proficient in instruction and evaluation. Certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), certified by the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association (SCRQSA).

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and preferred teaching experience per JRCERT accreditation standards.
