***REPOST - PREVIOUS APPLICANTS MUST REAPPLY TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS VACANCY** **This is a Time-Limited, Full-Time position funded through November of 2027** The Data Analysis and Informatics Specialist will report to the DPH Chief Data Modernization Officer. In addition to assisting the Chief Data Modernization Officer with strategically developing and implementing division-wide activities that promote better and more efficient delivery of services, this position will leverage data analytics, informatics expertise, and public health knowledge to drive innovation and modernization in public health data management. By collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data, our aim is to empower decision-makers, inform evidence-based policies, and ultimately improve population health outcomes. Through collaboration, strategic plan implementation, and the implementation of cutting-edge informatics solutions, work performed by this position will inform advancement of public health data systems, enhance data-driven decision-making, and address the evolving challenges facing global health. As a Data Analysis and Informatics Specialist, you will play a crucial role in modernizing public health data systems, leveraging data analytics, and applying informatics principles to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of public health initiatives. Your responsibilities will include collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data, designing and implementing data systems, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to inform decision-making and policy development in the field of public health. Other key responsibilities of this position include the following: Data Collection and Management: Analyze public health data from various sources, including government agencies, healthcare providers, and research institutions. Develop and implement data collection protocols, ensuring data quality, consistency, and integrity. Utilize data management tools and systems to maintain large datasets and ensure accessibility and security. Data Analysis and Interpretation: Conduct advanced statistical analyses to identify trends, patterns, and correlations in public health data. Interpret data findings and communicate insights to stakeholders through reports, presentations, and visualizations. Apply epidemiological methods and models to assess disease outbreaks, risk factors, and public health interventions. Informatics and Systems Development: Design, develop, and implement informatics solutions to improve public health data collection, analysis, and dissemination processes. Collaborate with IT professionals to integrate data systems, develop data warehouses, and streamline data workflows. Evaluate existing data infrastructure and recommend enhancements or upgrades to meet evolving public health needs. Policy Support and Decision Making: Provide analytical support to policymakers and public health officials to inform evidence-based decision-making. Contribute to the development of public health policies, guidelines, and strategies based on data-driven insights and best practices. Conduct policy analyses and impact assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of public health interventions and programs. Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including epidemiologists, biostatisticians, healthcare professionals, and policymakers, to address public health challenges. Engage with external stakeholders, such as community organizations, academic institutions, and industry partners, to foster collaboration. Serve as a subject matter expert on public health data modernization and informatics, providing guidance and training to colleagues and stakeholders.
