Job Focus Area


The Louisiana Department of Education’s Office of Teaching and Learning, Division of Educator Talent & Workforce Development, is seeking an Education Consultant 3 to support the statewide implementation of Louisiana’s educator evaluation system.

This position plays a critical role in the design, development, and ongoing improvement of the Louisiana Evaluation System (LES), the data platform that supports LEADS (Louisiana Educator Advancement and Development System). The Education Consultant 3 works closely with internal LDOE teams, technical partners, and school systems to ensure accurate evaluation data, clear guidance, and effective implementation of evaluation policy.

This role is ideal for a candidate who enjoys problem-solving, working with data systems, providing technical assistance, and delivering professional learning. The position includes daily collaboration across teams, regular communication with school systems statewide, and opportunities to lead training sessions and presentations, both in-person and virtually.

Candidates with the following skills, abilities, and experience are encouraged to apply:

  • Experience supporting or managing education data systems, platforms, or reporting tools
  • Experience providing technical assistance or help-desk style support to external users
  • Knowledge of educator evaluation systems, accountability, or assessment processes
  • Experience developing or delivering professional development, training, or presentations
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to translate technical information for non-technical audiences
  • Experience collaborating across multiple teams or departments to implement complex initiatives

Position Duties

Seven years of experience in education, teaching, or administrative services; OR

Six years of full-time work experience plus four years of experience in education, teaching, or administrative services; OR

A bachelor's degree plus four years of experience in education, teaching, or administrative services; OR

An advanced degree plus three years of experience in education, teaching, or administrative services.

Job Duties:

As an Education Consultant 3, you will:

  • Support the development, testing, and improvement of the Louisiana Evaluation System (LES) in collaboration with internal teams and technical partners
  • Provide daily technical assistance to school systems related to evaluation setup, user roles, observations, SLTs, and data accuracy
  • Troubleshoot complex evaluation and system-related issues and communicate solutions clearly to stakeholders
  • Review evaluation data and system logic to ensure accuracy and alignment with policy
  • Draft, update, and publish technical guidance, documentation, and training resources
  • Design and deliver statewide trainings, webinars, and presentations related to educator evaluation and LES
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for educator evaluation systems and processes
  • Support educator preparation and evaluation initiatives, including program approval processes and evaluation policy implementation
  • Collaborate across LDOE divisions (Data Systems, Accountability, Workforce, Communications) to ensure consistency and alignment
  • Assist with special projects, reporting, and continuous improvement efforts related to educator evaluation


Position-Specific Details:
Appointment Type: Probational, Promotional, or Job Appointment. The person hired for this position is expected to regularly report to the Baton Rouge office. Current permanent classified state employees may be required to accept a probationary appointment, if selected.
Work Schedule: Work days are Monday - Friday; work hours will be determined.
Compensation: The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience. This position has a Special Entrance Rate (SER) of $28.96/hour. 

**Note regarding the advertised pay range: The Education Consultant series have a special entrance rate that is above the minimum hire rate for these positions.The maximum amounts listed are the maximum salary amounts a person can make over their career and not the maximum amount we are allowed to pay a new hire.
