ITD is currently seeking a motivated individual to fill an IT Architect I position in our Headquarters located in Boise, Idaho. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and implementing technological solutions by leveraging a mix of documented standards, emerging technologies, and agency-wide resources.
Note: This position requires a background investigation before a final job offer is made.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
- Design and implement data architecture solutions that support business intelligence, analytics, AI-enabled insights, and operational systems across the organization
- Ensure data governance and security by implementing standards, policies, and best practices for data management, compliance, and responsible use of AI and automated systems
- Monitor and troubleshoot data systems to proactively identify and resolve performance or data integrity issues
- Evaluate, select, and validate emerging technologies, including AI solutions, for business fit and compliance
- Design scalable, efficient, and secure technology solutions using both current and emerging technologies
- Review, evaluate, and audit IT data solutions and AI-enabled tools to ensure compliance with architectural, operational, and ethical standards
- Develop and maintain data models (conceptual, logical, and physical) to ensure data consistency, quality, accessibility, and readiness for analytical and AI use cases
- Optimize data pipelines and integration processes to ensure high performance, reliability, and efficient delivery of analytics and AI-driven outputs
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, system admins, and business stakeholders, to implement effective AI strategies
- Document data architecture standards, AI usage guidelines, and procedures to ensure clear communication and consistency across teams
- Assist in the selection and integration of tools and platforms that align with agency goals
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to project teams and junior staff as needed
- Stay current with technological trends and propose innovative solutions to improve data performance and reliability
- Deep knowledge of AI/ML algorithms, Python, data modeling, and API integration
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Some knowledge of:
- Current trends in information technology
- Computer hardware and software capabilities and limitations
Experience:
- Technical infrastructure, implementing, trouble shooting, integrating network servers, database, system administration, and core technologies
