Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role based in Bengaluru for a State Head – Collections, overseeing Karnataka and nearby states. The role is responsible for designing and executing collection strategies, ensuring timely recovery of dues across assigned territories, and optimizing portfolio quality. The individual will lead and mentor regional and local collection teams, set performance targets, review field operations, and ensure adherence to regulatory and company compliance standards. Day-to-day tasks include monitoring collection metrics, conducting analytical reviews of delinquency trends, coordinating with finance and business teams to address high-risk accounts, and implementing process improvements. The role also involves stakeholder management with partners and customers, regular reporting to senior leadership, and supporting scalable, ethical collection practices in line with Progcap’s mission.
Qualifications
- Strong expertise in Debt Collection and Collections Management, with experience managing large, diversified portfolios.
- Advanced Analytical Skills to interpret collection data, track performance metrics, and design data-driven recovery strategies.
- Proven Team Management capabilities, including leading field and back-office collection teams and driving performance in multi-state operations.
- Solid understanding of Finance, particularly credit risk, working capital products, and retail lending in semi-urban and rural markets.
- Demonstrated experience in senior or regional collections leadership roles within financial services, fintech, or lending organizations.
- Knowledge of regulatory guidelines, fair collection practices, and adherence to ethical standards in customer interactions.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders.
- Comfort with technology-enabled collection tools, dashboards, and reporting systems.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field; postgraduate qualifications are an advantage.
- Willingness to travel within Karnataka and nearby states as required for field reviews and team support.
