JOB OVERVIEW
Generation India Foundation seeks to recruit a State Head - Meghalaya who embodies our values, understands the future challenges and opportunities for business development and is passionate about creating impact in India’s employment ecosystem.
The State Head – Meghalaya is a full-time leadership role that willreport directly to the Generation India Foundation’s Deputy Lead - Operations. S/he will provide overall operational direction, leadership and manage key stakeholder relationships. S/he will along with the Deputy Lead - Operations liaise with the global Generation operations/leadership to formulate, drive, and execute on strategy. S/he will collaborate with the Deputy Lead - Operations to be the figurehead of the Generation coalition in State and will directly coordinate with a team of operations and will direct the expansion of cities, programs, and students.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• To coordinate with Training Partners and ensure high quality implementation of our training programs through them ensuring adherence of the 7 Step methodology and our SOPs
• Responsible for the high-quality implementation of Generations program across various cities and sectors and hold implementation partners accountable for the same
• Responsible for the design and implementation of all Ops initiatives including recruitment, training, transition to employment, in accordance with program specifications & funding limits
• Ensure that programs are running with adherence to Generation methodology, practices and standards and provide problem solving and tactical support to ensure efficient operations where required
• Identify areas of risk and take necessary steps to reduce vulnerabilities
• Ensure all the targets and timelines for expansion and scale up are met
• Ensure appropriate organization and staffing, and grow the team as required
• Contribute to and support the development of the growth strategy
• Be a credible representative of our efforts with potential partners (employers, training providers and governments)
• Manage relationships with all partners at an overall level, and contribute to growing new relationships with these partners
• Represent Generation India, and its programs, with potential public and private partners as needed.
DESIRABLE PROFILE
Candidates for this role would be expected to possess the following experience and qualifications:
•Must be an MBA or Postgraduate from a reputed university/institute.
•Minimum of 8-10 years of business work experience in the skilling sector with 5-6 years of direct leadership experience is required.
•Ensure high job placement and retention outcomes for our programs by ensuring candidates are prepared in line with employer needs and supporting employer discussions as appropriate along with business development team. • Drive data Generation to demonstrate Generation impact and drive ROI.
•Leadership in operations settings (particularly those overseeing multiple sites or projects simultaneously) and experience holding accountability for large-scale operations.
•Experience managing stakeholder relationships, including those with senior management at State partners, government officials and agencies where required, negotiating with external vendors and enforcing governance with implementation partners.
•An entrepreneurial, creative, innovative, proactive mindset is required for organization that demands taking ownership of targets and seeking opportunities for improvement / growth of the program without guidance.
•Experience with financial planning and ability to manage budgets efficiently. • Positive, solutions and impact orientated attitude, drive for excellence.
•Professional demeanor, excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills (in English) and attention to detail.
•Ability to work effectively with a diverse and cross functional team (both within India as well global) is a MUST.
•Comfortable with technology and tech implementation, capable of leveraging digital tools to enhance operational efficiency and program delivery.
•Excellent in planning and project management, with a strong ability to organize and execute projects on time and within scope.
•Skilled at forging and driving new and existing partnerships, building strong relationships to support program objectives.
•Strong people skills and teamwork abilities, with a talent for motivating and leading teams.
•Capable of dealing with multiple stakeholders, managing varying interests, and aligning them towards common goals.
•Able and willing to travel on short notice to locations for conversations with external stakeholders.
•A growth mindset; self-reflective and open to frequent feedback from multiple stakeholders.
•Excellent writing and verbal communication skills with ability to tailor messaging to a variety of audiences.
•Excellent writing and verbal communication skills in one of the local languages of Meghalaya - Khasi, Garo, Pnar.
LOCATION & REPORTING
The position will be based in Meghalaya and will report to Deputy Lead - Operations.
Regular communication will be involved with India leadership and global team through multiple communication channels e.g. phone, Teams/ Zoom/ Skype, email, etc. The position will involve traveling nationally for 30%-40% of the time. SALARY The position will be a full-time, permanent post with benefits. Salary will be best in the industry and commensurate with experience. Relevant travel and incidental expenses will also be covered by Generation India Foundation
