Certified Medical Assistants play a crucial role in delivering exceptional healthcare services as a part of our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in various medical specialties, including emergency medicine, geriatrics, dermatology, and internal medicine. This role involves providing essential support to physicians and ensuring the smooth operation of our clinic. The Certified Medical Assistant will be responsible for assisting with patient care, performing clinical tasks, and maintaining accurate medical records.
DUTIES
- Measure and record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, and heart rate
- Prepare patients for examination by explaining procedures and ensuring comfort
- Administer injections as directed by physicians and monitor patient responses
- Perform basic laboratory tests and assist with coding for insurance purposes
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinic environment
- Document patient information accurately in electronic health records (EHR) systems
- Provide education to patients regarding treatment plans and preventive care
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure high-quality patient care
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Certification as a Medical Assistant from an accredited program is required
- Previous experience in a clinical setting preferred, particularly in emergency medicine or geriatrics
- Strong knowledge of anatomy and vital signs assessment is essential
- Familiarity with coding practices related to medical billing is a plus
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment
- A compassionate approach to patient care with an emphasis on empathy and understanding
CERTIFICATION OR LICENSE(s): Medical Assistant (MA), certification required.
Experience: At least six months experience in a similar clinic setting preferred.
