Salary - $30.00 - $33.37 (Overtime Eligible) - Based on Experience

The Business Development Sales Manager is responsible for proactively generating new business and driving revenue growth through strategic outbound sales efforts, account development, and market expansion across corporate, group, and social segments. This role emphasizes a hunter mentality, focusing on identifying, soliciting, and securing new accounts while growing existing relationships. In addition, the position supports event planning and execution to ensure a seamless client experience. The ideal candidate is highly motivated, results-driven, and thrives in a fast-paced, performance-oriented sales environment.

WORK HOURS

Will be required to work in-office Monday – Friday between 8:00am – 6:00pm with flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays based on event and hotel needs. May be required to travel or drive to solicit business.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Proactive Sales & Business Development

  1. Actively prospect, qualify, and secure new business opportunities through cold calling, outside sales calls, networking, and industry events
  2. Develop and execute a strategic sales plan to penetrate new accounts, industries, and demand generators
  3. Identify and pursue new revenue opportunities aligned with hotel business needs and market conditions
  4. Maintain a consistent level of outbound sales activity
  5. Conduct market research to identify emerging trends, competitive insights, and new business potential
  6. Build and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified leads to support ongoing revenue growth

Sales & Revenue Generation

  1. Manage assigned market segments and develop targeted strategies to meet or exceed individual revenue goals
  2. Prepare proposals and contracts that maximize hotel profitability while aligning with client needs
  3. Negotiate and close group and catering opportunities within established revenue guidelines
  4. Maximize revenue by selling all facets of the hotel to prospective and existing clients
  5. Evaluate potential and existing accounts for profitability, production, and long-term growth potential
  6. Consistently follow up on leads, inquiries, and proposals

 Account Development & Relationship Management

  1. Establish and grow relationships with key decision-makers, planners, and corporate clients
  2. Expand existing accounts through proactive solicitation, cross-selling, and upselling strategies
  3. Cultivate long-term partnerships to drive repeat and referral business
  4. Represent the hotel in the community through networking and industry involvement

  Sales Activity & Pipeline Management

  1. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all sales activities, accounts, and opportunities in CRM systems
  2. Track and manage sales pipeline, account production, and conversion metrics
  3. Provide regular reporting and forecasting to the Director of Sales & Marketing
  4. Ensure all account activity, contracts, and follow-ups are properly documented
  5. Achieve established weekly productivity goals for proactive sales activities, including sales calls, site inspections, and in-house entertainments, and submit a weekly activity report summarizing efforts and results.

Event Planning & Execution

  1. Support the successful execution of booked events, ensuring client expectations are met
  2. Prepare and distribute BEOs, Group Resumes, diagrams, and billing instructions
  3. Collaborate with operations teams to ensure seamless event execution
  4. Conduct site tours and walkthroughs as part of the sales process
  5. Monitor guest satisfaction and address feedback to ensure high levels of service and retention

Team Collaboration & Leadership

  1. Work closely with the Director of Sales & Marketing to develop and execute sales strategies and revenue initiatives
  2. Participate in sales meetings, strategy sessions, and ongoing training
  3. Collaborate with revenue management and operations to align business strategies and optimize results
