Position: Staff Accountant
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Staff Accountant to join our GAAP accounting team. This role supports day-to-day accounting operations, assists with the month-end close process, and helps ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial data across the region. The Staff Accountant performs core accounting functions including reconciliations, journal entries, cash reporting, and sales commission analysis while collaborating closely with internal accounting partners.
Position Responsibilities
- Perform daily accounting activities across assigned entities, ensuring transactions are accurate, timely, and properly supported
- Process one-off trade Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable transactions as needed
- Prepare and maintain bank reconciliations and daily cash reporting
- Review, track, and maintain sales tax exemption certificates and support compliance with local tax requirements
- Assist with vendor application maintenance and setup in coordination with the Accounts Payable team
- Perform monthly sales commission calculations, reporting, and analysis
- Prepare commission registers in Infor FACTS, and summarize results for Human Resources payroll processing
- Support the monthly close process by preparing balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, and standard and nonstandard journal entries
- Prepare intercompany reconciliations and assist in researching and resolving variances
- Assist with analytical reviews and variance analysis to support regional financial statement preparation
- Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, company accounting policies, and internal control procedures
- Support audit requests by preparing schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documentation
- Maintain accurate, organized accounting workpapers and documentation for audit and review purposes
- Collaborate with Accounting, AR, AP, Collections, and Corporate Accounting teams to ensure accuracy of financial data and timely issue resolution
- Identify opportunities for process improvements, efficiencies, or automation within accounting workflows
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance GAAP knowledge and systems proficiency
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field required
- One to three years of accounting experience, preferably in a multi-entity or complex organization
- Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP and core accounting principles
- Experience with ERP systems such as Oracle, NetSuite, FACTS, or similar preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial tools
- Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and problem-solving abilities
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently, collaborate cross functionally, and manage multiple priorities
- Motivated, adaptable, and eager to learn in a fast-paced finance environment
