Your Role And Responsibilities
As a Back-End Developer for IBM Z, you will design, develop, unit test, and deliver offerings for IBM Z, such as z/OS using agile practices and DevOps tooling. You will work in a collaborative environment to understand requirements, design, code, debug, and test creative solutions to client problems and requirements. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Design and Develop Solutions: Design, develop, and unit test offerings for IBM Z, utilizing programming languages such as Assembler, C/C++ to deliver high-quality solutions.
- Collaborative Problem-Solving: Work collaboratively to understand client requirements, design, code, debug, and test creative solutions to client problems and requirements, ensuring world-class quality and resiliency.
- Ensure Solution Quality: Ensure solutions meet world-class quality and resiliency standards, supporting strategic imperatives including artificial intelligence and cloud.
What You Will Do
- Architect, design and develop DSFS features and fixes. Function as a Development Engineer who is fully hands-on.
- Function as a Development Engineer who is fully hands-on.
- Write design documents, review design and test documents, code, test and fix defects.
- Prepare status updates and present to the management.
- Identify opportunities for DSFS enhancements and define implementation plans.
- Collaborate with global z/OS teams.
- Look for improvements in Software Development life cycle.
Required Technical And Professional Expertise
- 8+ years of relevant experience
- Strong development Engineer who has demonstrated experience in operating systems, designing, unit testing and defect fixing
- Strong programming skills in C.
- An understanding and experience with Agile software development concepts and processes
- Strong expertise in Unix/Linux file systems. Extensive experience in debugging and troubleshooting issues
Preferred Technical And Professional Experience
z/OS architecture, Operating systems, Familiarity with z/OS and z/VM, Java, Python, GIT, JIRA, ASM (Assembler) programming
