Role Description
The Staff Nurse - CVTS OT role is a full-time, on-site position based in Malappuram. The role includes conducting pre-operative preparations, assisting surgeons during cardiovascular and thoracic surgical procedures, and post-operative care within the OT. The nurse will maintain a sterile environment, oversee equipment readiness, manage patient documentation, and closely monitor patient vitals during surgeries. Additionally, the nurse will ensure adherence to quality standards and infection control protocols and work collaboratively with the medical team to provide exceptional patient care.
Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in General Nursing & Midwifery (GNM) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.Sc. Nursing) with valid Kerala Nurses and Midwives Council registration.
- A minimum of 1-2 years of experience in CVTS - Operation theatre preferred.
- Comprehensive knowledge of surgical nursing principles, including infection control, patient safety, and professional standards.
- Hands-on experience with cardiovascular and thoracic surgical procedures and OT equipment handling.
- Skills in monitoring patient vitals, post-operative care, and use of clinical decision-making tools.
- Proficiency in coordinating with surgeons, anesthetists, and other healthcare professionals for seamless operations.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and patient management skills.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications are an advantage.
